Do you KNOW EXACTLY what’s going to happen 5 MINUTES from now?
And are you WORRIED about it?…probably NOT!!!
Then how can you KNOW what’s going to happen TOMORROW…or with that meeting, job, family, school, or LIFE?…and WHY are you WORRIED about it? Worrying CAN’T predict or change things…just live in the NOW and BE HAPPY

What a brilliant thought! I found this article in my friend Sharon’s facebook wall. Just thought of sharing with all.
My cousin who is learning ‘Ethics’ in her B.Tech degree had a different view point about killing rats / mice to test new medicines for the sake of humans. As per her, it is unethical to kill such creatures for our sake.
During the discussion over phone I told her that even though it is legal to do research in other developed countries after getting a degree from a government institute, it is unethical to do so because the degree was almost given free of cost by the government using the tax-payers money and the student is obliged to return some favor to the tax payer (not through money, but through Intellectual Property to the country).
Her argument was that the country doesn’t have proper infrastructure to support research scholars and only developed countries will allow such scholars to do research easily. Here she had to save even a pencil in the lab. If that is the case, she was wondering what her focus would be on – research or pencil?
I gave her an example: “Assume that your father has an IT Research company which trains people for 3 months getting only 10% of the training fees from the student and paying remaining 90% from it’s pocket. Also there is another IT Research company which does similar training but charging 100% of the fee from the student.
After getting 3 months training from your father’s company, if a trainee joins the other rich IT Research company citing the reason that it has more facilities to do research, they pay well, here in your company they have a limit for email storage and there they get unlimited email storage (whether I’ll worry about my research or email storage?), etc, what would you say?”
She told that she had exams the next day and she had to prepare. Did I hurt her? Because after getting her degree from a number one government college, she is planning to do research in a developed country.
I’ve good respect for Barack Obama, the president of United States of America. Please read this article, with this statement in mind.
When a person gets ‘Power’, many times he/she misuses it because it is natural. Only very few who are extremely matured and have lot of self-control will be able use their ‘Power’ properly. In my perception, few US leaders have misused their power outside their country. During those times, even people in US raised voice against such misuse of power.
I was wondering why Obama was given Nobel Peace Prize this year when his term as president started less than a year ago. Then I realized a proverb in Tamil: “Give the key to a thief if you want your valuables in the locker to be safe”.
The Norwegian Nobel Committee has done a great job. After Obama’s tenure, they should be given a Nobel Peace Prize.
How would you feel when a person provides a honest feedback about your mistake (however the tone is)?
How would you feel when someone provides a positive comment about your trait or task (however small it is)?
Negative Feedback: No one likes this even if told politely/gently.
Positive Feedback: All of us like this even if given in a few words (e.g. “Excellent Blog!”).
More and more positive comments you receive from others, the better you will become. It will help you get a good mood, relax your mind, reduce your anger, reduce your stress, reduce your irritation and you will become more enthusiastic, productive, creative, sincere & efficient.
When you know that “Positive Comment” will change you in a positive way, then why wait for someone to provide you one? Start giving it to others. Soon you will receive it from others.
Start influencing the world with positive comments.
PS: Even though a honest negative feedback is bitter & unpleasant, it is the one which will help and improve you.
I always used to think that every person in this world should do something useful and make their life meaningful. After talking to one of my friend – Ramanan, I realized that ‘we should be what we are’ and simply enjoy our life.
This is like: If everyone has to play a game, then who will watch it? If everyone wants to sing, then who will enjoy listening the song? If everyone wants to blog, then who will read?
Like how there is pleasure in doing something great, there is equal pleasure in receiving that great thing. The only difference is that your name (or ego) will be invisible when you just receive it. But so what, just be the person who enjoys life.
So, the best thing to do is, just be what we are and enjoy life.
Some of you may not understand this sentence because this article is not elaborate. I’m not telling to enjoy by just receiving, but by being what we are. This is similar to “Be the part of the automobile where ever you want to be and move the vehicle. Don’t always think of being the steering wheel.”
A player entertains the audience. A singer in the audience entertains the player. A bathroom cleaner helps both the player and singer not to get pissed off when they go to the rest room. ……
Yesterday I met this guy ‘Anantharaman’ who is ‘Head of Technology’ at “Hey Math!” during TiECON Chennai 2009 committee meeting.
After our introduction, we started exchanging details (like ‘Why did I start HomePlanGuru.com?’, ‘How did he join Hey Math!”, “How he is heading CII Young Indians Media Chapter”, etc) about each other.
During our conversation, he offered to help me in few areas like introducing me to some journalist and getting some visual communication students to capture my venture ideas, etc.
While leaving, he told me, “Viru, I’ll do these things next week. If I don’t do it, call me and ‘Demand’ me the things I promised to do”.
I was astonished by his character, commitment and care for others. How many of us can tell to a “30 minute old friend” – “Demand my help, if I don’t do it”?
Sometimes many of us feel proud about their name. I’m not sure whether I feel proud about it or not, but I see my name having some connection with Physics.
I asked many people about the meaning of my name “Virupakshan” (a Sanskrit name). One convincing answer I got was: “Virubam” means “Different” or “Ugly” & “Akshan” means “eye”. “Virupakshan” means “Person with different eye”. In Hindu religion, Lord Shiva’s name is “Virupakshan” because he is the one who has the third eye in his forehead.
With one eye, people can see only 2D view of the world (like how we see photographs, TV, movie, etc). With two eyes only, a person can see the 3D world (i.e. depth of objects can be realized only with two eyes). This is the same reason why nature has given us two ears (to know where from the sound originated).
One eye -> 2D, Two eyes-> 3D; then Three eyes -> 4D! What is this 4D or Fourth Dimension? In Physics, “Time” is the fourth dimension.
I believe (or wish to believe – to be honest), that Hindu religion must have thought about this 4D few thousand years back and hence must have told about Lord Shiva as the one having three eyes.
Last but not the least: “It is not important what one’s name means, but it is important to make one’s name meaningful.”
